Service System Design for the Betterment of Italian Women’s Heart Health
Context
Number one cause of death in Italy are cardiovascular disease related. Moreover, CVD is the leading cause of mortality globally. Cardiovascular diseases are conditions that affect the heart including arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, heart failure and atherosclerosis.
The problem is that Cardiovascular diseases suffer from a lack of urgency because the problems develop slowly and seemingly inevitably, where prevention policies seem distant and abstract
Impact
- Created a service system prototype in the pursuit of increasing equity (the absence of avoidable, unfair, or remediable differences among groups of people) of outcomes for heart health

- Utilize and apply Service Design methods to approach the topic of heart health
